农作物种子（Crop Seeds）是种子的专业版本，主要用于耕种。当种植在基础农田/改良农田上时，会种出与种子名称一致的作物（例如，胡萝卜种子会种出胡萝卜）。
给鸟笼中的鸟喂食作物能获得对应的农作物种子（除了浆果和曼德拉草）。每次喂食笼中鸟会掉落1-2个农作物种子，在此基础上有50%的概率会掉落1个普通种子。农作物种子不能直接喂给笼中鸟。在巨人王朝DLC中，友好的浣熊猫会吐出随机的农作物种子。
食用农作物种子会获得0.5生命值和9.375饥饿值。和普通的种子一样，农作物种子具有40天的保质期，并且可以放在火上烤来获得烤种子。
